Summary of the story

But a tragedy happened ten years ago and her Uncle has never recovered from it. Miserable Mary started to explore the gardens of the house. Led by a red breast robin, she uncovers a secret that will change her life forever.......
Genre
This story is an adventurous story because Mary Lennox hears about a secret garden that has been locked up for ten years and starts to explore the gardens to find it and as time goes by she starts exploring the rooms of the mansion.
Setting
This story is set in different places and I enjoy books that have different settings because it gets boring if it is the same place all of the time. The author has chosen appropriate settings for the book because on the Yorkshire Moors everyone is polite and that is where Mary learns to be sensible and good-natured and a boy called Colin is ill and that is when she gives him fresh air by taking him outside in his chair.
Plot
There was a slow build up to the story but the author kept my interest and made me want to read on because there were lots of exciting events but there was not too many! The author kept a good pace but sometimes there were more exciting parts than others and I wanted to skip it but I didn’t. There was definitely enough action to keep me reading.
Characters
I think there were enough characters and I could Identify all of them easily. I would probably like to be Mary because she is the one that discovers the Secret Garden and she makes friends with her cousin Colin, who she has never met before. I understood how Mary behaved at the beginning and how Colin behaved half way through the story. I could see the main characters
