The background and foundation of these said branches cannot be more clearly derived and begotten from federalism, the important division of powers.
The important aspect of this system is, at a national level, federalism will ‘fall down the chain’ to affect the states and further affect the communities within that state. The powers that the government has are very important because they are denied to the states and are categorized by three types; the expressed powers, the implied powers, and the inherent powers.

These are the only powers that they have because these powers are denied to the states.
The second restriction is that the powers that are not expressly and directly stated that the government has are given to the states and the states only. These are the powers that are denied to the federal government. This is another way of referring to the silence of the Constitution, which furthermore limits the powers of the National Government.
And the third restriction is that the National Government is denied certain powers based upon the ideas and the practices of the federal system itself. This is caused by the fact that any part of the government, national, state, or local, cannot take any actions that would threaten the existence of the system.
The Importance
The importance that federalism has and what it does is something that not many American citizens may have the knowledge of or may even simply not care. But the point of this paper was to help one understand that implied importance and to hopefully make one wish to understand and to want to learn more about federalism and the government in general.
