Social norms are groupheld mindset about how members should behave in a given context. Sociologists describe norms as informal understandings that govern society 's behaviors. Few sociologists consider norms are constituted by humans in order to endorse order in a group. On the other hand, few other scholars argue that social norms are created primarily to promote roles, thus reinforcing the stability of a social class. Thus, breaking it or deviating from the social standards are often frowned upon and even condemned by the society (Bobel, et al 2011, p.5).

I chose to break a norm but in advance I had to observe a setting i picked for my experiment: the New York City subway.
One can argue it to be most versatile and multicultural city on this planet; where norms are being broken on daily basis but as I orchestrated my act the results were remarkable. Usually, the World Trade Centre bound E train on weekdays morning are mostly occupied by whitecollar workers and college students. Generally, working men and women are in their formal attire and students in casual such as jeans, sneakers, baseball hats and etc. The train makes 13 stops in Manhattan and about 10 or more in Queens region. While travelling to their destination people are mostly reading books, newspapers, listening to music, playing games on their phone or tablet, talking to someone they are acquainted with or sit idle maintaining a nonexclusive course to kill time.
