They were known as savages. Later on the British became very interested in the Indian society and looked at it as similar to their own. India was claimed to be an area of great splendidness, significance and of outward appearances according to the British. The British Empire expanded greatly between the 16th-18th centuries. Between the ends of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century the British thought up of the discovery of societies throughout the world and they did discover societies and everything turned out well for the British for a number of years but unfortunately it wasn’t going to last long.
