the church so the only other means of getting news was the paper but, the newspaper can sometimes have a biased opinion on topics. It was also the burial place of a well loved general, governor Francis Fauquier. The church served as a hospital and storehouse during two different wars. It served housing for debates and meetings. The church itself is just a building but what goes on in the church was way more than that. The magazine was just a building that stored guns. Today the still serving 3 century old parish is mainly valued because people go to church to worship, but that is not the only reason. People can visit the church to learn facts about the history. There aren't just weekly sunday masses. There are festivals that take place there. For example candlelight concert and historical organ playing. There is a large black oriental ball on the steeple. Looking at this ball from the ground it is easily visible and appears to be recycled mortar, but It actually landed there accidentally from an unexpected shooting during the civil war. Any man's finest hour is when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted in the field of battle… victorious.
