Introduction It does not matter whether one is managing a florist, grocery store or a bank, one cannot manage the company without having some type of order. Order is needed to ensure that all aspects of the company is taking care of, providing order means that one has to take steps that combines into a process that takes care of the company needs. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a process, a model that is needed in project management (Johnson, 2012). SDLC explains the steps involved in an information system development project, from the first step of researching and analyzing to all the way through to the final step of maintenance of the completed application

All projects are not the equal so it is essential to define the cost, goals and schedule that is necessary for the project at hand (Johnson, 2012). The system analyst is the connector between the client and the technical team of software developers and programmers (Guille, 2007). Analyst understands the client 's needs from the proposed system but also is able to resolve technical queries and issues that the team may face while developing project (Guille, 2007). The responsibility of the software developer is to develop a software related development for the client by been involved in the dynamic innovation in sections that involve development and system integration (Guille, 2007). After the developer has developed the software/application the system tester, extensive testing is done to show the outcome of the application (Johnson, 2012). Any flaws or discrepancies will be corrected to ensure that the stakeholder/business requirements are been fulfilled (Johnson, 2012). Once adequate testing has been performed the new system will be up and running to the expectations of the stakeholders/business system maintenance will be needed to ensure that the software/application continues to run properly (Guille,

    A system has various stages of development called the system development life cycle. This cycle consists of four stages: Planning and investigation, analysis, design and implementation, follow up, and maintenance stages. Planning and investigation involves an investigation of an already created system, organizing a system study team and developing strategic plans for the rest of the study. The analysis portion of the life cycle consists of analyzing the company’s current system in order to determine the information needs, strengths, and weaknesses of the existing system. The design stage of the life cycle consists of the changes that eliminate or minimize the current systems flaws and weaknesses while increasing or preserving the strengths. Implementation, follow up and maintenance includes obtaining resources for the new systems as well as training new or existing employees to use it. Companies then conduct follow up studies to determine whether or not the new system is successful and to identify any new problems with it. Of course, businesses must maintain the system like correcting minor flaws and updating the system. There is not really a distinct way to determine when the stage is reached or even completed, which is why it is called a cycle because it is continuous. For example, follow up studies of a system should be a continuous process. Companies constantly reevaluate systems to make sure they work the way they should because if problems in the system re-surface or a new problem appears the life cycle starts over again starting with the system study.
