I’ve read that 14% of High School students in an environment where bullying is present have considered or attempted suicide, and on top of that, bullying is a main factor in over half of suicides in general. Suicide has become the third leading cause of death in people between the ages 11 and 24. Each day 160,000 kids stay home from school because of fear of being bullied. Bullying is linked to problems such as social anxiety, eating disorders, depression, cutting, borderline conditions and drug and alcohol abuse. Bullying increases failing grades and high school dropout rates. Children who begin bullying others at a young age are more likely to commit at least one felony or be engaged in forms of serious aggression by the age of 24.
