Can you imagine bullying someone until they try to kill you? This is exactly what Anvil does in the short story “The White Circle” by John Bell Clayton. In the story there are two boys named Tucker and Anvil Their problems escalate quickly and eventually Tucker tries to kill Anvil. Anvil is more at fault because he bullied tucker way too much First off Anvil bullied Tucker first. At the end of 1st page of the story it says from Tucker's point of view “He suddenly cocked back his arm and cracked me on the temple with a half eaten apple.” This shows as seen as Tucker confronted Anvil in the tree Anvil chose to take the first shot and bullied Tucker. Next off Anvil doesn't explain why he stole the
apples till after Tucker
Tried to kill Anvil. In the end after Tucker pulled the trap wire Anvil said “you tried to kill me” then said “you can have your stinken apples. You would do that for a bunch of dried apples your dad owns everything in sight and i own nothing”. Now if Anvil said this earlier when he first stole that apples this would of never happened. Then he pushed Tucker way over his edge.On page 2 After Anvil beat up Tucker Anvil said “Stop Blubbering” then Tucker said “i'm not crying” while thinking about towering, homicidal detestation planning to kill Anvil. This shows that how Anvil him hard and way over his edge where he wanted to kill Anvil.
