“What I do not understand is that why you are arguing with me? Why would anyone attend that school with the knowledge of all the trouble that they will face?” her father rebutted with confusion on his face.
In incredulity, Gary assured “No offence, but since when did you become unafraid of the integration? Oh and thank you, see Dad even sylvia gets it.”
“Yeah I get it very well, but i’m still startled about all the integration stuff, You know
it’s scary” Sylvia said as she sipped on her tea.
Gary followed “This is segregation and it has been illegal since 1954, why are they still doing this?” with puzzled face.
“The white folks are brainwashed and it is very hard to go against them, you already know this son” said Mrs. patterson calmingly.
“Horace Mann is such a great school, plus it is new” her father claimed. “I know the feeling you’re feeling, I have tried to fight before too but it didn’t turn out great, I am just worried” Mr. patterson with dissapointed face.
“Well, I am going to keep fighting until we win” gary said with enthusiasm.
