Managers have become more distrustful of advice that is based solely on theories. Now, they require evidence that the management practices are truly effective in today’s workplace. Management could use this method to determine the cause and affect of their decisions. As per the text, this method helps leaders to avoid simpleminded quick fixes. Over the last few years, my employer has deployed roles to a contracting company in Pune, India. During the time I’ve supervised the contractors, there has been constant attrition within their team, as they are required to work US business hours. This has led to endless training of new members and never-ending queries regarding straightforward and complex transactions. Additionally, there have been multiple issues that were not appropriately actioned and limitless complaints from our internal clients. This is the second time the company the company tried to deploy roles. Initially, roles for my department were retrieved from Singapore for the same reasons. The portfolio was not being properly maintained. Now, five years later we are going the deployment route again. It seems to me that if we had used the evidence-based model we would not have deployed roles to a contract company that does not work US …show more content…
As per the text, a company’s design influences communication patterns among individuals and teams and determines which person or department has the political power to get things done. An environmental factor that is currently affecting my workplace is the market conditions. Many financial institutions have been on the ropes since the market took a downturn in 2008. Many large companies such as Lehman Bros fell and we were able to gain market share in those down times. However, now the market is tight and the company has needed to make cuts such as layoffs and deployments in order to operate more efficiently. Our strategic factor continues to remain the same, as we are client focused; therefore, as issues arise with our customer they are immediately escalated to ensure our internal and external clients remain

    The computer virus employees of Symantec Corp. are never able to enjoy a finished product. They are constantly collecting viruses and suspicious codes to analyze the way they work and to find a solution to prevent these viruses form damaging the public’s computers. They are determined to provide their consumers with updated versions of anti-viruses for their computers. At the Symantec lab, they have a box, which has all dangerous types of viruses that needs or be disposed of. Vincent Weafer has been a part of Symantec since 1999. In 1999, there were only a few employees at Symantec and that there were only a few viruses spread out through months compared to how it is now. Nowadays there are about 20,000 viruses monthly spread out, so more talented employees around the world work for Symantec.
