Introduction

The company that I will be investigating and suggest improvement for its marketing mix would be Black Berry. Black Berry has drawn my interest because of multiple reasons, one of the main reasons is because Black Berry was popular back in a few years ago but has suddenly lost a huge part of the market due to new phones. It would be interesting to understand how that happened and how could it be saved. Blackberry is a company that was famous for their company suited phones. The first Black Berry phone was introduce in 1999 in Germany. Black Berry quickly became the most ideal business phone as it has many communication features and less entertainment factors. On year 2012 it has reached the maturity state and has the highest net income over all the years until now, an astonishing 3,444 million of net income. The most popular feature of Black Berry is the Black Berry Messenger Services. But in recent years it has been taken over by many new smart phones , like apple's I phone and Samsung's Galaxy series.

As its sales and revenue are declining their are many ways to improve its marketing mix. I would be investigating on improving the marketing mix in order to improve sales and revenue generated by Black Berry. Another important problem that is worth investigating would be how Blackberry current branding image which is still considered as old fashion and only suitable affect its sales and how competitive is it in the current smart-phone market. Furthermore I would research on the new smart-phone that Blackberry launched (blackberry z10) impact its current market. The main goal of all the different research is to show that Blackberry is drag down by its brand image that it is only a company used phone and

The 30 year fixed mortgage loan seems to be one of the most popular loans people take out because people get to pay back the money over a stretched period of time. The interest rate on a fixed mortgage rate stays the same throughout the life of the loan. Each monthly payment is equal to the interest on the principal and some of the principal amount. Since some of the principal amount was paid off when the loan was taken out, the interest payment on the remaining principal will be a little less each month. The payment is the same each month so some the principal amount is paid off each month. This loan is so popular because of fixed interest rate and lower monthly payments; however because the term is so long, you will have to pay more interest. These rates have been up and down for months now, but on February 21, 2013, according to The Wall Street Journal, the 30-year mortgage rates were at 3.85%. The way these rates are measured is through percentages because it makes it easier to understand its changes. The periodicity of the 30-year mortgage loan rates happen on a daily basis.…

The Tet Offensive began on January 30th 1968, consisting of a series of simultaneous communist uprisings across 36 provincial and 64 district capitals of South Vietnam. Tet is an undisputed turning point in the war leading to almost immediate de-escalation of US commitment. The importance of Tet lies in its clear exposure of Johnson’s illegitimate claims of progress and the ineffectiveness of previous escalation in Vietnam. This caused a significant loss of support for the war, giving Johnson no choice but to reduce commitment to Vietnam. However, the de-escalation of commitment after Tet may not have been a result of Tet. There were clear problems with the American war effort before the offensive began which contributed to Johnson’s decision to end escalation of the conflict in March 1968. Tet revealed these problems in the war effort leading up to 1968. The review and change of US policy after the Tet Offensive was not necessarily because of the Tet Offensive, rather, the Offensive came at a time when US policy needed to be reviewed. The importance of Tet was that it emphasised the war could only be perpetuated not won. The view that Tet caused (rather than contributed to) American withdrawal from Vietnam is overrated.…

External market size and growth has been a root cause of Blackberry’s revenue problems. Blackberry’s global market share declined to 5% in 2012 from 20% in 2009 (Palenchar, 2013). Blackberry lost four million subscribers in the last quarter, bringing total subscribers to 72 million (Connors, 2013). This happened primarily because Blackberry is falling to woo customers with its products. For example, Blackberry introduced the new Z10 smartphone, but instead of selling satisfying numbers of the new Z10 smartphones, Blackberry sold 3.7 million of its old cellphone inventories. The cost of producing the Z10 is not covered with the revenue Blackberry is producing. Another factor is the lack of innovation at Blackberry (Hessman, 2013). Blackberry is losing revenue because it cannot keep pace with innovators and competitors such as Apple, Google, and Samsung. From the start, Blackberry had trouble adjusting to market (Hessman, 2013). When Apple introduced the iPhone in 2007, Blackberry knew that Apple’s new phone is innovating, but Blackberry failed to change itself to adjust to the market accordingly. Blackberry was not willing to take risk and today it faces the same problem. Since there is no innovation at Blackberry, customers…
