Uber has been a party in the sharing economy, and the changes in industries in the industry as a result of the sharing economy has been referred to as Uberification or Urbanisation. Uber has also been subjected to industrial sabotage and legal actions. The user app software requires the drivers to have a smartphone, and the users must have access to either a smartphone or the mobile website. In most cities, Uber offers fair pricing. The rider is informed about the fare that he or she will pay before requesting the ride. In some cities, Uber does not provide reasonable pricing but instead calculates the price of a ride similar to a taximeter; charges for the rides are based on the time and distance of the trip. Uber also offers promotional rates on flights to or from certain areas at certain times. This was observed when Kalanick joined Camp and gave him full credit for the idea of Uber. Camp spent $800 hiring a private driver with friends and had been cogitating over ways to decrease the cost of black car services ever since. He realized that sharing the cost with people could make it affordable, and his idea morphed into Uber.
