GLOBAL BUSINESS CULTURAL ANALYSIS: NIGERIA 2
Abstract
There are many elements that are incorporated in the concept of culture, for Nigeria and everywhere else in the world. These elements flow freely into the business arena, both local and global, affecting the decisions made by those in leadership positions. This research paper will attempt to lay out some of Nigeria’s cultural dimensions and how they are integrated into Nigerian business. I will also discuss how those very elements compare to those in the business and culture of the U.S., and how the factors may affect companies who are considering expanding their trade and business into Nigeria.

Introduction
Nigeria and her culture are unique in many ways. The Nigerian population is diverse in ethnic group, religion, social structure and language. Most scholars and economist, as well as the World Bank, classify Nigeria as a developing nation, one that is in the midst of trying to industrialize and figure out, through trial and error, which strategies, policies and concepts work best with her culture, technology, assets and governance. Nigerians are a community in the true sense of the word. Families include extended members, friends and the community around them. The human behavior pattern of the majority of Nigerians is the culture of their nation and that 's what creates a feeling of belonging and togetherness. This same sense of accountability for others is applied in the business environment as well, shaping meetings, negotiations and decisions for Nigerian leadership and management.
