Describe the benefits and opportunities to the business of using internet marketing within the marketing mix of a selected business.
In this task I am going to be describing the opportunities and benefits of Nike using internet marketing within their marketing mix.
E-marketing overall presents businesses such as Nike with opportunities to improve a business’s marketing effort as well as helping to gain a competitive advantage. Although e-marketing does provide these opportunities businesses have to consider factors such as whether the do they have the It resources and skills to monitor and maintain a transactional website and what the financial and technological capabilities of the company.
Products:
By Nike using e-marketing its means they can base their products on the feedback provided online by market research and furthermore, one the benefits this provides for Nike is that they modify their existing products or develop their new products to meet the satisfaction of their customers. The resources that Nike can use from internet marketing are sources such as customer reviews, FAQ’s and feedback. Another aspect that internet marketing has provided for Nike is that it has allowed them to split products into two parts which include the core product in which is the actual product purchased by the customers that fulfill their needs and the second aspect within the product being split is the extended product in which are the benefits that are built around the product such as warranties and money back guarantees.
Another benefit e-marketing has provided for Nike is the ability to allow them to personlise their product online using web technologies which have arisen through the mass use of e-marketing. Nike have pursued this opportunity by implementing a feature within their website in which allows customers to tailor and personlise Nike products to satisfy them for example this web technology provided Nike customers to change aspects of Nike
