According to Life Development, parenting style is defined is “the characteristic strategies that parents use to manage children’s behavior” (p.192). Parenting style originally had three different type which are The Authoritarian Parenting Style, The Permissive Parenting Style, and The Authoritative Parenting Style and then fourth style was made by Eleanor Maccoby and John Martin which is named The Uninvolved Parenting Style. In the movie, Regina’s mother does not care about what her daughter does, she let her daughter talk to her however she wants, and she allow her daughter to engage in risky behaviors as far as drinking, and having sex. Permissive parenting style describe as a parent who has much nurturance for the child, but does not have no good communication with the child, no type of control, or no maturity demand over the child (p.192). Therefore, I would say her parenting style is a permissive parenting style because she has no control over her daughter, no good communication skill with her daughter, but she does care about her daughter in a way. Throughout the movie, Regina always do what she wants, tell her mother what to do, but after Regina hit by the bus, her mother right by her side taking care of her and making sure she looks beautiful for the spring fling dance. I would add a little more background story to each of the main characters to see or make a theory of my own to figure out why they act the way they do. For example, why does Regina’s mother let her do what she and tell he what do, is it because she scared of her daughter, or for other reasons that has happen in the past. My question about my concept on social status is can a person still be popular, but have the emotions of an aggression/withdrawn person? I have no other questions about the other concepts I have pick because I believe I understand the other concepts I have pick for this
