Mean Girls
Mean Girls, a 2004 American teen comedy film directed by Mark Waters, with the screenplay written by Tina Fey, describes how female high school social cliques operate and the effect they can have on girls. The two main characters in this movie, Cady Heron and Regina George, may have a world of differences between them, but they are also very much alike. They are alike in the way they deal with situations, but unalike in the way they handle the consequences of those actions. Throughout the movie, it will become evident that Cady is the better person both morally and physically.
Cady, a sixteen-year-old homeschooled daughter of zoologist parents, returns to the US with her parents after residing in Africa for 12 years. Cady is unprepared for her first day of public high school. With the help of her new friends, Janis and Damien, Cady learns about the various cliques. They warn her to avoid the school's most exclusive clique, the Plastics, the reigning trio of girls led by the “queen bee” Regina George. The Plastics take an interest in Cady, inviting her to sit with them at lunch and go shopping with them after school. Upon realizing that Cady got accepted into the Plastics, Janis hatches a plan to get revenge on Regina, using Cady to infiltrate the high-strung clique.
Having ingratiated herself with the Plastics per Janis' plan, Cady learns about a "Burn Book." This notebook is Regina's top-secret notebook filled with vicious rumors, secrets, and gossip about all the other girls (and teachers) in their class. Cady soon falls in love with Regina's ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels, whom Regina successfully steals back from Cady in a fit of jealousy. Hurt and frustrated, Cady continues with Janis' plan which involves cutting off Regina's "resources," which include separating her from her boyfriend Aaron, destroying her beauty, and turning Regina's fellow Plastics, insecure rich girl Gretchen Wieners and sweet, but ditzy, Karen Smith against her. Cady starts feigning

Mean Girls is an excellent artifact, worthy of investigation in the way that it shows how we expect teenage girls to act, but also how difficult it is for them to refrain from acting that way. When using the Marxist perspective, we begin by identifying the subject positions, as models or anti-models. Mean Girls provides clear subject positions about the models – characters that viewers are encouraged to want to be like, and the anti-models – characters that viewers are encouraged to no want to be like. Thus, the models appear to be “The Plastics”, a group composed of the three teenage girls Regina George, Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith. By analyzing “The Plastics”, it seems like teenage girls need to follow a specific pattern in order to be popular. That is to say, on a physical standpoint, teenage girls need to be thin, pretty, and wear tight and revealing clothes, while on a behavioral standpoint, they spend their time gossiping, partying, dating, and talking about boys, rather than focusing on their academic success. On top of the hierarchy is Regina George, and the two other “Plastics” are her subordinate. On the contrary, the anti-models, challenging the status quo and considered as abnormal or undesirable are represented by Janice and Damien. Both of them are belonging to the oppressed group, or the group that is considered as “inferior” and “subordinate” to the dominant group. Mean Girls depicts how easy it is for a dominant…

Another parallel was Cassius and Cady. In the play, Cassius was against Caesar from the start. He was the starter of the conspiracy and was out to get him the whole time. "The Graduate" is a great film, with Dustin Hoffman, playing Benjamin (Ben) Braddock, the epitome of the confused and isolated young adult male. Ben is confused about where his life is heading, he fumbles for an answer whenever one of his parents' friends asks him "what are you going to do next?" He stares mournfully into his fish tank, perhaps likening himself to the fish dwelling within it. He is trapped in this glass cube. This movie is for anyone who’s ever wondered what he or she are going to do with their future. Not a classic love story, “The Graduate” is a coming of age film. You can see that by the different types of love portrayed in the film, love of self, parental love, lust and finally near the end of the film, romantic love.…

I am mad but not for long I'm mad at myself for thinking I could of ever of had a best-friend. I allways seem to be closer to someone then they are too me. Somedays I stay silent just to see if there is anyone who cares enough to ask why. I just feel so alone right now and I don't know if anyone cares or not. You say you care but where is the proof You say you care Is that really the truth. I wonder if you remember me in ten years because I know I will remember you. Tell me is this fair. I allways wondered why you chose me when you are wonderful enough to have anyone you want. Trying to figure out what I ever did wrong for you to be okay to lose me.At least now I know that I care too much.As one of the many quotes on Tumblr says "I will be ok. Just not today."…
