In the book, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, everyone reacted differently with their names. I personally, had a problem when people with could not pronounce my name when I was younger. Which made me create a solution. I decided I would go by the name “Ari.” In our society our names go a long way. Starting from respect, through disrespect.

Maya responded by breaking Mrs.Cullinan favorite piece of China, though it was wrong to damage other people things; Mrs.Cullinan damaged Maya by calling her out of her name.
A contrary explanation is that, If I had a class where I known these people for more than almost a year, and not one person cared to know my name; I would feel ashamed.
