California Kyle's Own Mistakes
Born and raised in San Jose, California Kyle lives with his parents and his younger sister. During high school he was involved in the International Thespian Society and was a drama production technician. When he was young, he was a big gamer which came him to come up with the saying “when in doubt go left.” Aside from gaming, he also refers back to this quote throughout his life as well. Looking back at it now, his favorite childhood memory was when he was still living in his first house. When he was three years old, he had a fish pond that was really deep. One day, he drowned but his dog came to the rescue and pulled him out. Although he loved his dog, Chico a lot, he lost him when he moved because Chico digged a hole in the backyard and managed …show more content…
No one is perfect in the world we live in and everyone will have their own flaws. Because of this, he believes that it is important for a person to be able to laugh at his or her own mistakes. To be able to easily adapt to any situation and have an open-mind about the things that occur in life, he believes it is one of the factors that can affect one’s happiness. In his opinion, he believes one is happy when he or she is content with their success and where they currently exist in their life. Along with these qualities Kyle appreciates it when he gets the opportunity to meet people who are understanding and have common sense. However he hates it when people interrupts him when he is immensely studying or when people do not respond right away. Instead of periods, he prefers it when people punctuate with an odd number of emojis instead. Because Kyle is a big animal lover, he does not appreciate it when people believe the opposite and are cruel to them. Everyone has the right to get angry or rude at one point, however he does not understand why some are like that for no reason.
Originally, he planned to attend medical school after graduation. However, he changed his mind and decided that his new plan is to take a year off and work as a research assistant in a lab for a year, during which he will be able to determine if he really wants to continue pursuing medical school and becoming a

One rainy afternoon, mid-November, when Simon’s father had asked to speak to him. Simon’s father, John Thomas, was very strict and concerned with the path his son should follow after high school. Simon’s father was among many who were concerned about the decision he had made. There were about two months until the deadline for applying to universities and colleges and Simon had an idea of where he wanted to go. Simon’s father asked him “So have you decided what you want you’re going to do?” Simon nervously nodded his head. “I want to apply for medical school to become a nurse.” His father gave a hysterical laugh, almost as if he was offended. “Is this is a joke? Seriously you must have mistaken yourself for something else.” The room had gone silent. Simon knew that his father wanted to tell him that there are many better paths he could have chosen. After five minutes Simon had stood up, firmly he said, “This is what I want to do with the rest of my life, I want to do something where I can help people.” Simon had faintly walked back upstairs to his room and had not spoken to his father for the rest of the…

The novel, Into The Wild, by Jon Krakauer has many themes or lessons regarding the sad story of a young man named Chris McCandless who died an early and unfortunate death, while following his ambitions. Among the many themes found in this book, some include a father-son relationship, free thought, materialism, and young manhood. Krakauer describes Chris as a person who was very independent and capable of doing many things. He was someone who didn’t bend to any rules other than his own, including those given by his parents. Chris’s character embodies the theme free thought such as, “He intended to invent an utterly new life for himself, one in which he would be free to wallow unfiltered . . . No longer would he answer to Chris McCandless; he was now Alex Supertramp, master of his own destiny,” (Krakauer, 23). One of McCandless’s goals was to detach himself from his previous life and society so he could move on to a life more exciting and to his own tastes. He didn’t care what others thought of him during his journey, specifically when he would go days without taking a bath. Because McCandless was a free thinker, he would often disagree with his parents, namely his father. Krakauer also had an uneasy relationship with his father. Both McCandless and Krakauer were highly ambitious people with their own morals and goals, fueled by their strong wills and passions. However, problems surfaced because their fathers’ ambitions for them were very different from their own and great rifts were caused between father and son. McCandless’s relationship with his father partly influenced McCandless to leave his home and college without a trace. The book states, “Both father and son were stubborn and high-strung. Given Walt’s need to exert control and Chris’s extravagantly independent nature, polarization was inevitable . . . He brooded at length over what he perceived to be his father’s moral shortcomings, the hypocrisy of his parents’ lifestyle, the tyranny of their conditional…

McCandless thought other. Overall, Chris McCandless’s childhood wasn’t the best. His journey was the highlight of his life until it came to the end. He was poisoned and suffered for many days with an illness of starvation and was barely able to stand up. During his last days, Chris McCandless writes, “‘I HAVE HAD A HAPPY LIFE AND THANK THE LORD. GOODBYE AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL!’” (Krakauer 199). Chris McCandless finally opened eyes to see what he had in front of him because he realized that his family did care for him and that the people he met along the way gave him happiness, but was too much of a fool to realize. Out of the public eye, the accomplishments of these heroes often go uncelebrated except for a select few. On the drive to Fairbanks, Chris tells the driver, Stuckey, everything about his family. He tells Stuckey about his dad’s actions, how he feels about the situation, and everything he loves about his little sister. Prior to this moment, Chris had not uttered a word about his family history to any person he came into contact with. This is an indicator that McCandless is becoming less hostile. Once Chris treked on to the Stampede Trail, he had begun his path to self-discovery. The only path Chris could have taken to resolve all of his demons would be one that’s uninterrupted by the trivial matters of a life at home. For some people, the only way to have gratitude for the things you are given is to experience a life without it. A person doesn’t realize what they have until they learn to do without. For Chris McCandless, it took two years to realize how many things he had, how many people loved and cared about him. Nonetheless, he still had the realization.…

I asked him if a college degree and four years experience as a hospital corpsman wouldn't over-qualify me for a job as a nurse's aide. In a patronizing tone of voice, he replied the only true motivation for becoming a doctor should be the sincere desire to help people, and as a hospital corpsman, I would be helping people in much the same way I would as a physician.…

She worked really hard in all of her classes, but especially her nursing classes because she knew that the reward would pay off. Studying every time she could, she thought that she would have a chance at getting into the program. All of her hard work paid off and her GPA was really good, but most likely not good enough to get into Oshkosh’s nursing program the first semester she applied. She now faced a new problem; trying to figure out the next step in her college career. Many advisors had always told her to think of a plan B, but she never thought about it in the depth that people had wanted her to- she didn’t think that a plan B was even in the future. Although Oshkosh is a great school, there are other schools that would be a good fit as well. These schools have good programs that are easier to get into and she could go right when she applied. Another problem for Jensen was that her general education classes were complete so it wouldn’t make sense to stay at Oshkosh for another semester and take filler classes, as that would be a waste of time and money. Jensen knew what the next step would be and was feeling confident about it. She would go to a different school if Oshkosh didn’t accept her on the first…

The Declaration and Address’ intended audience was all who love our Lord Jesus Christ. The intended audience ties in with the message of most of the document in that it speaks of unity. A major part of the Stone-Campbell Movement was to bring unity and the Stone-Campbell Movement was formed through unity. I think a couple of the main reasons why unity is so important in the document was one, because God calls us to unity through Him, and two, because the Stone-Campbell Movement was created through unity. If Stone and Campbell stayed separate in their thoughts, beliefs, and motives the impact they were able to have would not have happened. The importance of unity is far beyond describing. When there is not unity in the Church, then the Church will fall. Division makes anything weak. That is why the topic of unity is discussed with such importance.…

She was surprised and extremely touched: It was the first present she had received from her son in more than two years, since he had announced to his parents that, on principle, he would no longer give or accept gifts”.The author develops this theme by showing how Chris was self-less.”On weekends, when his high school pals were attending “keggers” and trying to sneak into Georgetown bars, McCandless would wander the seedier quarters of Washington, chatting with prostitutes and homeless people, buying them meals, earnestly suggesting ways they might improve their lives.”.Chris genuinely cared about people he believed couldn he wrote “Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” then before he died he wrote again “Happiness only real when shared”. The Californian Dream can be regarded as one of the most paradoxical concept in history.
