Reality treatment is identifying specific behaviors are incongruent with their wants and how people in the clients’ quality world are reacting. Then having the client evaluate how the stressors are preventing congruency in their world. Finally developing a realistic plan to offer change in the client’s world.

The conversation would transition to how Candy’s views how her behaviors are communicating congruence or incongruence with others. Corey (2015) talks about how indispensable for clients to examine the direction wants in life.
Candy needs to conduct in an honest self-evaluation of spectific behaviors, actions, wants, and perception and begin stratgizing a plan to redirect her current behaviors and energies toward in realistically attain what she wants.
Corey (2015) discusses how counselors “must soften realty therapy” (p. 329) by acknowledging when client’s choices are restricted due to of environmental factors beyond their control. In these situations, it is paramount for counselors accept these restrictions and focus their client’s on taking small steps toward bring change (Corey, 2015). I would have Candy identify one to three moralistic issues her father is having with her. Once identified, I would refrain from connecting this issues with the father and focus our discussion on what actions or small steps Candy could take, i.e. school suspension
