At the time, I had no idea why she would burden me with the extra work and effort. It wasn't until I graduated middle school that the importance of classes and grades occurred to me. Due to my advanced schedule, I work towards having my associate’s degree when I graduate high school. If I had not been pushed since I entered school, I wouldn't have been on track to graduate high school this ahead.
Additionally, from the age of five I began to develop skills and techniques I still apply today. Although I still struggle with procrastination, I have been able to succeed through delegation, studying, and vigorous work. Luckily for me, Captain Ahab and I differ in the outcome of our pursuits. Ahab proclaims that he will kill Moby Dick, or die trying, he succeeds through the latter. However, I have managed to receive straight A’s my entire schooling, and keep my life. Another key difference is that if I fail in my pursuit, it will not drive me to insanity. In conclusion, Captain Ahab let his lifelong infatuation with Moby Dick cause the death of himself and his entire crew, save Ishmael. I let my commitment to schooling rule my life, but I have found a balance, a balance between school and life. I have learned how to adore life, while still making it possible for me to live the brightest future I
