Marsha Lloyd and her husband John Lloyd moved to a new place on the Midwest to pursue a career opportunity from where she was previsoully located in he East in teaching for Marsha. When working in a career usually there are things that Marsha was use to in regards to work standards or what you do at work is appreciated and acknowledge for. Also what body of work has been done. When Marsha Lloyd transition to her new career as a professor in the Midwest her body of work wasn’t well appreciated as what she thought so she did something what she felt was right. Chapter 6 of the business textbook (Uhl-Bien, Schermerhorn, & Osborn, 2014) talks about a term called Intrinsic Rewards it means work outcomes an individual receives directly as a result of task performance. In the case of Marsha that what happen since she was a new worker that was doing well at her job and task that was ask of her. The work didn’t really account for anything because Fred motto was that the people that were at the department longer should receive a higher pay for their loyalty and longer stay at the job.
Marsha could of use distributive negotiation by stating to Fred that for the period of time that her work showed she should get paid for at the moment instead of waiting towards the end of the year to asset the works work because it clearly showed that Marsha was not being fairly appreciated for her contribution to the department.
This clearly shows in the case of Missing Raise that clearly work that an individual doesn’t mean you will compensate because there are bosses that have the mentality of rewarding people that been with the company longer that an individual and really wouldn’t give the worker what they he/she
