In this career you’re also given opportunities to be a mentor for your students. It can be a rewarding job but also their will be stressful moments. In order to be a Kindergarten teacher, there are certain requirements you need to meet. First you need to be a high school graduate, have attended college and earned a bachelor degree. A masters is optional, but some schools in certain states may ask for one. A license is also a vital requirement you need in order to be eligible to teach. There are also benefits that can be earned by being successful with this career such as healthcare benefits, pension and time off. There were many views and beliefs of how children should learn in school, particularly in the early years. Gutek (2013) explains that Jean-Jacques Rousseau believed that children should not be pressured to learn before they were ready (p. 247). Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi believed children learned best through sensory learning through object lessons (Gutek, 2013, p. 250). In 1837, Friedrich Froebel established several schools that incorporated kindergarten. “He began to emphasize the importance of play in children’s early development, adapted object lessons to children’s readiness, devised games and physical exercises, and wrote songs and rhymes” (Gutek, 2013, p. 253). As an educational leader, it is important to understand how kindergarten and early childhood development has evolved over the years. Leaders need to understand that the way teachers instruct kindergarten students is more than because it is developmentally appropriate. There is a history of the foundation of kindergarten and how it has come to be what it is…

The concept of Belonging is the idea of being part of something and feeling accepted. Often individuals have differences that can create feelings such as seclusion and isolation from people and places. This sense of alienation is shown throughout Tim Winton’s short stories ‘Big World’ and ‘Aquifer’ from a collection entitled “The Turning” and also from the Tropfest short film “Missing Her” directed by Micheal Weisler. Both Winton and Weisler, use literary and visual techniques to explore the ideas and feelings of belonging and not belonging.…

The career that I chose to research was Middle School Education and Teaching. I chose this career because I have always liked going and being at school, I’ve always liked being able to learn new things, and be able to work and be with people every day. A teacher is an educator who provides education for students. Being a teacher can help students in many ways even out of the classroom. A middle school teacher normally teaches the grades sixth to eighth. The reason there is a middle school is to get the students prepared for harder classes in high school. A few things that a teacher does is prepare lessons, quizzes, and tests over the material that they learned. They can teach subjects anywhere from science, math, english, spanish, and any other courses that the school provides. Teachers prepare report cards, talk with the student's parents if needed. They also have to enforce rules and regulations and make sure all students follow them. Teachers don’t just teach they help students with their personal lives and help them grow up to be a better person in the world. Teachers provide and educate students on all core subjects and with learning life skills. A teacher’s work environment is normally…

All children are required to graduate high school, but pursuing higher education is only recommended. While high school curriculum is designed to prepare students for higher education, students learn essential career readiness skills while enrolling in higher education classes. Since students are not obliged to pursue higher education, many students who decide not to continue their education lack the skills necessary for future careers. While some schools hope to implement career readiness for either all their students or for only the students who do not wish to pursue college, other schools do not want to offer career readiness programs as they believe that it offers incentives for students not to attend college. Schools should require all students to take career readiness classes as…

After reading all of these statistics, I am shocked at how many parents felt that their child was not prepared and they were not familiar of expectations. Communication about the transition is very important. This is where the preschool teachers or caregivers can step in and provide their assistance with making this process less hectic and more enjoyable. I am going to share this article with some of my co-workers because I think they will enjoy reading it and the statistics provided. I know it will make the two teachers in the preschool feel great because preparation for kindergarten is one of the big things that they focus on! Not only do they prepare them with all of the knowledge that they need to have a major head start, but they also prepare them for what to expect. This was a great read about parent…

Naval aviation has come a long way since the first flight. The Navy took something that was once just a hobby to a system of an advanced war fighting machine. There is no doubt that at sea the Navy has complete dominance of the waters, the main reason for this is the Aviation part. The interest in a flying machine came in 1898. The job was to observe and report any possibilities of a flying machine, and in 1908 and 1909 naval officers were present at flights of the Wright brother, who were from Ohio. Following the successful launch from a ship, which was made by a Curtiss biplane off of an 83-foot wooden platform, the Navy began to make the cruiser Birmingham*.…
