“Training focuses on improving employee performance on one's current job. Development helps to prepare an employee for other or future positions. Careers have been traditionally defined in terms of a sequence of positions held within an occupation, of mobility within an organization or as a characteristic of the employee. Organizations were traditionally paying their employees and offering them benefits only according to the nature of the job they hold within the organization. In the contemporary organization, employees may be paid and get their employment benefits according to their competencies -which are regularly monitored and developed through the performance management process- and this way- a learning/ performance based culture is enabled within the organization. (1) Explain the training needs assessment process TNA and highlight how organizations can make a maximum utilization of this process.
