Michael and Wink Jackson are receiving advice from 3 different individuals/experts: Scott Jaeger, Laura Kornish, and Dave Maney. For this assignment:
1. Identify the problems that Zeal has. It is helpful if you list these problems in the first paragraph of your case write-up.
2. Think about it: If you were the Jacksons, what would you do to grow your business, i.e. what are your recommendations? Why? Be specific. You can use advice from one or more of the experts if you feel it is good advice, but be sure to give the reasons you think it is good advice. If you don’t use advice from the experts, you should discuss why you didn’t feel it should be used.
3. In the second paragraph of the write-up, start with the first problem, use the suggestions from the experts that you feel are appropriate, and then make your own suggestions. Be sure to tell me why you are using either the expert’s suggestions and your own.
4. In your case write-up, emphasize the marketing areas, such as the width of the product mix, support of the representatives and retail salespeople, use of social marketing (twitter and Facebook) with both the individuals in their supply chain and the end customers, the use of adwords, search engine marketing and optimization, and the use of blogs.
5. The Jacksons didn’t follow all of the advice given to them by the experts; do you think that they made good or bad decisions here? Why?
6. Given that the Jacksons have limited time and resources, how would you prioritize the recommendations you are making. You should devote a paragraph in the write-up to the prioritization, and tell me why you prioritized the recommendations as you did.
