T.K is a 13-year-old African American female student who is currently in 7th grade. She is still in the adolescent stage. T.K is an at risk student and struggles with different issues that involve anger management, problems focusing in class, and staying in class. She was selected to be in the program because she was an at risk student. According to her file here at school, she has major problems with not being disruptive in class, fighting, being disrespectful and following bad influences. She also has issues with following rules and having her phone out at inappropriate times. T.K does not do well with authoritative figures and gets extremely disruptive when she feels like she has to prove things to her “friends”, and when she feels disrespected.

Both T.K and the mother agreed that the the stepfather has a good relationship with all of the children, and is also available for the children. He talks to the children with respect and the children respect him as well. T. K’s mom and stepfather does work and provides for the family now, but there was a time when the mother was the only source of income. She was the only source of income because the stepfather was unemployed due to an injury.
During the time the stepfather of T.K was out of work, T.K would get into more trouble because she felt that the mother was not home enough. T.K said that she felt neglected somewhat and did not want to be bothered by anyone. T.K further explained that she lashed out on the people who said anything that she did not like, and that caused her to get into trouble. After her stepfather went back to work, T.K started to do better with her
