I met my mentor as I opened my front door on a brisk fall Friday night, November 11, 2011 to be exact. He stood at about 5’3,” which made me laugh a bit because I was taller and I would be calling him my mentor. The style he had was that of a preppy college student. The voice he had was so loud that it echoed throughout my house as we first chatted. Out of all the attributes that make up Francisco, the one that will forever be stuck in my brain will be that of his enormous smile. Francisco always figures out a way to keep his big bright smile on his face, despite the situation he is facing. Francisco San Miguel’s dedication and hard work are two things that have led him towards his success…

Sometimes while facing adversity, there is a point in an individual where their instincts reveal the truth, that what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger. A person’s true talents are shown when faced by adversity. Bethany Hamilton had been surfing since she was a child; at age thirteen she is was injured in an almost-deadly shark attack, losing her left arm. She was back on her surf board one month later and then won first place in the Explorer Women’s Division of the NSSA National Championships, two years later. Jim Carey is another example of this; he revealed that at the age of fifteen he had to drop out of high school and support his family. His father was unemployed, poor, and they eventually had to live in a van. Carey didn’t let that stop him from becoming a comedian and is now known as one of the best comedic actors of this…

Marc is my hero because he has been to his lowest point and proved no matter where you come from weather it's a drug addiction, or being suicidal you can overcome anything. “Marc, I was in your presentation today at Hagerty High School. I was sitting in the back, by myself & I was going to go home, and take my own life, then I saw your program… I thought about my mom. How much she loves me. I thought about your story, and why God still has me here. I bawled my eyes out in the bathroom, and realized I’m here for a reason. YOU made me realize that, you saved my life.. You came on the perfect day, right when i’d had enough. Thank you.” (“Meet Our Founder”). Says a student at Hagerty High School in Oviedo, FL. He reaches out to the younger generations in primary and secondary schools all over Australia as a guest speaker to build confidence in listeners. His services in schools successfully decrease suicide cases that frequently happen among the youth in Australia. He has become an international speaker, he has travelled to places like India to share his experience, and his subject was disability and hope. He believes that he could give disabled people hope. He fought for what he wanted taking the example of that he couldn’t attend to a normal school but with support and his energy he and his family changed the law of Australia. He was one of the first Australian disabled Australian people to attend to a normal school. How he can still carry on with his life putting aside the rejection and loneliness he went through influenced people that if he could carry on with his life so can they. He has even made his own organisation and he is now writing a book. His family supported him from the beginning to help him believe in himself. They have helped him and guided him to make him feel stronger. The one mistake people take is that Nick tried to commit suicide at a very young age, this might encourage people and make them lose hope, because he did once as well. I disagree with this because putting aside his struggles, rejection and loneliness and the fact he tried to commit suicide he is world wide and he inspires millions of people all around the world making touching videos and messages. He has become strong in faith and he is very successful. He is grateful for every little thing he has. Without purpose, life ceases to have meaning. And when we lose meaning, we lose hope. Nick Vujicic has found his purpose in life. He encourages people all around the world to never give up. It is a frame of mind that shapes a person’s future. His videos inspire thousands of people. He is still trying out new things in his life like surfing.…
