In the trailer for the movie Cat People, the representation for the “otherness” is show very straight forward. There is a normal woman who is cursed by transforming into a cat. There is also a part in the trailer where the narrator Discusses the “ women's kiss means death” which can mean that any man that falls in love with her she plans to kill. In this trailer the “ norm” may be the modern girl just living a normal life, while the “other” can be the cat version of the woman, she may have the bad characteristics of the normal woman when she transforms. As the film develops I expect to see the norm try to discover why the modern girl transforms to the cat or how, and tries ways to figure out how to stop it.

In the trailer of the The Invisible Man, Dr. Jack Griffin is portrayed as the external monster. Dr. Griffin is shown with a lot of scary characteristics. For example, his face is always covered with a scarf and has glasses to cover his eyes. As soon as he opens the door to a room in the trailer, all the other people inside look at him extremely strangely for they have not seen someone like that before. Next, he isolates himself in a room while researching his studies which causes people in the trailer some concern. A man even says, “ it's the stranger with the goggles he's gone mad” which can cause some horror to people. As the trailer goes on Dr. Griffin then takes off the scarf for he shows that he the invisible man and no one can see him for when he takes his clothes off. This can be extremely scary to people because no one knows how that can be possible and he continues to terrorize and kill people in the trailer. A man in the trailer asks why Dr Griffin did such a thing, Griffin responds “ it was a scientific experiment, to do someone no other man has done.” No other man has become invisible and may have people worried for their
