As far back as history goes there have always been two sets of opposing ideas to how the earth came about. One of the most popular theories is ‘The big bang theory’ this theory is that the universe began as very hot and small, with no atoms, stars, form, or structure, then 10 billion to 20 billion years ago space expanded very quickly ,resulting in the formation and grouping of atoms, which soon lead to the creation of stars and galaxies. This theory took billions of years to perfect and changes and still on-going. Although scientists continue to calculate and try to prove the big bang theory. This is the secular view on ‘how do you explain the origins of the universe?’ Humanist’s believes we are all connected and came from the same source. “The world, nature and human beings do not owe their existence to any being or force outside of themselves.” -Karl Marx. This quote shows how he is against the idea of there being a god and us owing him and paying for our sins in purgatory. It’s a great quote because it shows how he views Catholic Beliefs.
