Cause And Effects Of Slavery In The United States
What were the causes and effects of slavery in the US? African Americans were sent over to the U.S and were forced to become slaves. Soon enough slavery reached its lowest point in America. There are many causes that lead to the nadir of slavery in the U.S. To begin with,there are a of causes of slavery in America. The first one is the cotton machine. This caused cotton to reach its height. Also, Nat Turner was told by god to “slay his enemies”. Furthermore Frederick Douglass joined a black church and began to speak out against slavery. Another cause was rich white men were becoming furious about runaway slaves. This became known as the Fugitive Slave Act. There are also many effects of slavery from these causes.
