Have you ever thought about how far the America has come from racism? In 1947 Jackie Robinson broke the color line when the Brooklyn Dodgers picked him to play for an all-white team. Jackie was the most hated person at the time, because he was a first African American to play for an all-white male team. This essay will analyze Racism in Oklahoma, explaining its causes, effects and prevention.
There are a number of causes for racism, one would be children watching their parents do it, anther maybe cause of social media and a third would be who we let our kids hang out with, but the history and source say that people's culture and where they came from is the number one cause of racism. My first question to him was, “Have you seen racism in our school? And his response was, “No i have never seen racism in this school or any school I worked at, but I have seen a lot of racism growing up and my school”. I agree with that because I have heard many stories from my parents and grandparents about how their use to be a black school only and a white school only. No blacks or whites were allowed to be seen together. This led to my next question, “How often was the situation”, as he responded, “No it was never often, it was more of an isolation problem”. This led to my next question about the Oklahoma chant, “What’s your opinion on the chant from the student at Oklahoma Unsurvey?” with his response “ It was very tacky on the behavior of the frat house, and the student was wrong for what he said, but the present and school board handled the problem very well. Which I think we all can agree that the present handle it well, as I began to end my interview with my last question, “ How do you think we can change the view on racism as we get older and time change?” How do you think we can change the view on racism as we get older and time change?” And he responded, “ we would never be able to change generation of racism until we get them to understand the true meaning of racism we would never be able to change generation of racism until we hit it so we get them to understand the true meaning of racism, remember the Titans is a great movie that explains racism because it explains how you can take two races and come together, remember the titans is a great example of racism because it explains how two races come together and create a powerful football team even though the town didn't like it”, but there are many ways we can prevent racism from happening.
