Causes Of Smoking In The United States
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), (2017), in 2015 approximately 36.5 million adults were smoking in the United States. Smoking tobacco is a leading risk factor for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is a preventable cause of death. People smoke is not only in the United States, but also, in other parts of the globe. The World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), was developed by countries to attack some of the causes of the tobacco advertising, promotion, and illegal trade beyond national borders (2015). The Convention entered agreement February 27, 20015; and 90 days after it was in affect, 40 states had agreed to this treaty. There are currently 180 parties involved in this treaty.
