Nowadays the crime in our country has increased dramatically and has created a sense of anxiety among public. The nuisance remain unsolved despite harsh punishment has imposed. Anti-social behavior such as truancy, littering and errant driving have posed a lot of problems to society but to our indignant, these culprits can get away easily undetected. Therefore, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is in wide use nowadays as it is more versatile and easy to maintain. CCTV plays significant role in deterring crime and anti-social behavior as it has wide viewing angle, could operate under dim light conditions and acts as multiple monitors which can record and store information. How CCTVs can deter the happening of crime? Installing CCTVs at strategic locations or crime prone areas may hinder robbery, snatch theft, pick-pocketing, assault, gang fights and kidnapping from happening. Likewise, CCTVs aid deployment, operation and investigation of police. For instance, police can instantly alerted to suspicious incidents and directed to locations by CCTV operators. CCTVs also could provide instant imaging to police which assist the identification and provide concrete evidence to assist in the prosecution of offenders. Apart from that, CCTVs help to solve problem of employee theft for retailers. To enhance consumer safety and reduce the fear of kidnapping and rape, CCTV s play important role as CCTVs can act as surveillance at car parks and definitely can safeguard welfare and properties of public. Moreover, CCTVs could help to curb discipline problems in school. CCTVs could impede students from breaking down the school rules like climbing the school gates, loafing behind petrol stations, smoking in the toilets, vandalism or extortion. How the CCTVs at shopping malls ant Internet café areas can deter truancy and loafing of students?
