Center for Disease Control and Prevention or popularly known as CDC was established on July 1, 1946 and occupied one floor of a small building in Atlanta. When it has started its mission, first mission was simple but challenging: prevent malaria from spreading across the nation and one of the handwashing to make it recognized around the world. CDC is an agency that works on public health. It has continued its works for public health efforts to prevent and control infection and chronic disease, injuries, workplace hazards, disabilities and environmental health threats. Now the CDC is globally recognized for conducting different research and investigation programs for the improvement of public health. It works with other partners to solve the
problems and to provide a system of health surveillance to monitor and prevent the diseases and to maintain national health statistics. Hand washing is the easiest method and one of the most effective ways to prevent the spreading of germs. Every year, we use to celebrate 5th May as the world Hand Hygiene. Actually, the main purpose of celebrating the world Hand hygiene Day is to remind people about the importance of proper hand washing in accurate time. It also helps the people from potentially deadly germs by cleaning their hands. On that day different government and non-government organizations aware the people in different ways how to keep away from germs free. They use different means of communication as well as source to raise the awareness of the importance of hand washing. Last updated on March 24, 2017 related to hand washing on the CDC website. This website published information related to proper hand hygiene. It demonstrates how to perform good hand hygiene, proper technique of using hand sanitizer, hand washing with soap and water. It can be practiced by every person such as health care providers, patients, public then the spreading of germs will minimize between the people, home, workplace, community, hospitals, and nationwide. Hand washing information is appropriate for 5th grade reading level. As we know cleaning hands reduce the spread of potentially deadly germs of patients; the risk of healthcare provider colonization or infection caused by germs acquired from the patient’s etc. This study was done by centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
