Celebrities In Dante's Inferno
For sake of political correctness, I do not believe anyone could rewrite Inferno and use celebrities in their book. Everyone is offended by everything nowadays, and a simple tweet can trigger a million people that have opposing opinions. Entire careers have been ruined because of an unpopular stance stated on social media, imagine an entire article with touchy subjects! By putting celebrities in different circles of hell, you're practically damning them. Some will take offense while others would laugh it off. You could be sued by Madonna by placing her in circle four! Plus with all these laws, it would be nearly impossible to obtain the rights to use celebrity's names in your article.
Now, Dante writes about nine circles of hell. Each get more

Circle three: I don't know a specific celebrity involved in hoarding, but anyone on that TV show about hoarding or The Biggest Loser would go there.
Circle four: I hate to say it, but I'd put Beyoncé here. Queen B charges too much for her concerts! I don't even think she does meet and greets anymore, what a shame.
Circle five: Kanye West. It is said that no one can love Kanye more than Kanye loves Kanye. And that seems to be true, he'll even fight to defend his album name. What the heck man.
Circle six: Again, I can't think of a specific example of heresy, but Madonna has some opposing Christian views. Though I don't believe heresy is a thing, because everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Circle seven: Every serial killer and gangster belongs down here. What they have done is totally just unbelievable. I don't even know what would bring someone to murder somebody, it's just despicable.
Circle eight: After googling "tax fraud cases" I have found that a man named David Hoare has committed tax fraud. So there you go. David Hoare. Whoever he

Dante and Virgil are outside the eighth Circle of Hell, known as Malebolge. The circle has a wall along the outside, and has a circular pit in the center. The ridges create ten separate pits. This is where the people receive their punishment for fraud. This is where Virgil and Dante see souls from one side to another. The demons with great whips cause pain to the souls when they come to the demon’s reach, which then force the souls to the other ridge. There is an Italian that Dante recognize and he speaks to him. The Italian tells Dante that he lived in Bologna, and now is there to sell his sister. The pit is for the Seducers and the Panders, and then Dante saw the Jason of mythology who abandoned Medea. When Virgil and Dante had…

In Inferno Dante makes fantastic use of details and imagery, explaining his trip from circle to circle lower and deeper into the pits of hell that lead him to purgatory. Dante created this work to represent the journey from the soul to God in the afterlife. This piece was very well accepted in the sense that even though no original copy in Dante’s writing survived, hundreds of copies had already been found of it. Dante used representation of the Medieval view on the afterlife as it had developed in the Western church to write his epic. Although it is said that the original copy of The Divine Comedy was lost to time, you can purchase the paperback copies of Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso at Amazon.com for $15.08. I originally chose to focus…

In the Inferno, mutilation is the most common way for those in hell to be given the ineluctable punishment for their sins. Mutilation is an act or physical injury that degrades the appearance or function of the body. Mutilation is both used in the inferno as a way to cause physical pain to those in hell, but the form of mutilation used on the sinners is also a form of emotional torture because it pertains directly to their sin. Because mutilation is used so frequently in the inferno Dante must use varying ways to depict the mutilation that is forced on the sinners. Dante uses vivid imagery, Homeric similes, and symbolism to help develop the theme of mutilation as he travels through the Inferno.…

The Inferno written by Dante is a haunting and gruesome tale of one man’s journey through hell. Taking place in 1300 Dante writes about a character named Dante. Throughout the book we are not sure if the character is strictly sketched out like Dante himself or just simply named Dante. Most scholars of Dante believe that he used the name Dante but suggest that no evidence has been given to support the character Dante being based on the poet Dante. The Inferno is about Dante’s travels through hell with the help of his guide, Virgil. Dante gets lost and Virgil helps guide him by taking him through hell and then to heaven where he will see Beatrice, his love. During Dante’s pilgrimage he goes through seven different circles of hell. In each of these circles he encounters sinners who are enduring punishment. The punishment of each sinner exhibits contrapasso. The theme of contrapasso is…

Guantanamo Bay is a prison area near Cuba and is controlled by the American Navy. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in the US, the US forces picked up about 600 people from various parts of the world and imprisoned them in the Guantanamo Bay prison on charges of aiding or involvement in this terrorist attack. In most cases, the governments of the countries to which these prisoners belonged were neither informed or was permission taken. It was done in such secrecy that even the families of these people learnt of this incident only through media reports. These prisoners were interrogated and if the US forces could draw connections between them and the terrorist attack, they were kept imprisoned in this high-security prison. There were no trials before any US magistrate, and no one from the media or the UN were permitted to meet them. There were no legal rights given to these prisoners in any country. The UN supported a probe by Amnesty International which discovered serious human rights violation in the Guantanamo Bay prison. The US directives to prisoners and prisons were not followed. The living conditions of prisoners were deplorable. They were not treated as prisoners of war and many prisoners even went on hunger strike demanding better conditions. Prisoners who were found not guilty were not released from Guantanamo Bay were not released. The US received much international criticism due to this and is now gradually phasing out Guantanamo Bay prison.…
