Censorship to americans is seemingly getting harder because of the lack of things we know about other countries. Censorship keeps citizens from knowing as much about other countries as we should. If we knew nothing about other countries, we would not know what to expect from other people and races, and would not know how to …show more content…
deal with them. Also, we would not be able to relate, and would not know what was going on between us and other countries.
Think about how much the government hides from us about our own country. They have kept many things, over many years away from us that usually and inevitabely makes us too late for whatever comes next, good or bad. Censorship is keeping citizens from knowing the full effect of what is happening in our own country. We see this a lot, again, in the novel “Fahrenheit 451”, and again, that is how bad it can get. They also show us in many other articles, novels, and books, because they have found it to be true. A wide assortment of people believe in this anti-censorship movement and that is the reason we see it in so many things. If we could see into more about our country, we would all be better off.
If we knew more about advancements in all fields, we would be better prepared and smarter. Censorship prevents us from knowing about advancements in technology. The more we dont know, the worse it can be for us, because we not only want to know, but need to know as well. We know for a fact that many government based organizations, as well as the government itself, knows much more than they say. There is nothing we can do about it because the government has everyone taking whatever they give, and not enough people question the advancements and other things. American citizens should know more about technology advancements and other advancements as well.
Censorship is preventing citizens from learning as much as they should. Censorship is a threat to the learning of children and teenagers around the country. You see, the government chooses what they do and do not want us to learn about. This is arguably making us less smart than we would want. They limit how much we can learn, how often we can learn, and even why we learn what we learn. Censorship has taken things much too far with this. If we want censorship to decrease in schools and other classes and learning practices, we must do our part to lessen censorship as a whole.
All of censorship is more than it should be, if needed at all.
There are some times where it is needed little, and also times where it is not needed at all. And even the times it is needed, it is not needed to the extent that it is used. There are very many ways censorship is bad for this country, and very few ways it is actually needed. Censorship in the knowledge of other countries, censorship from the government, censorship in technology, and censorship in learning are just few ways censorship is misused in the U.S. Everyone knows, as well as the pro-censorship believers, that censorship is misused in some areas. And that other areas it is not needed at all. Anyone that is pro-censorship knows well enough that it is wrong, the way it is misused. To close my argument i would like to point out the fact that pro-censorship believers have no real reason behind why it is a good thing, and cannot prove wrong that it is bad for not only children, but everyone in america. Now, i would like to resm my case by again saying to simply look into the negatives and positives of censorship, and see which one outweighs the
other.
