Thank you for your comment. I also agree students should be allowed to read the material they want. The reason this case was brought to court was because the books were removed without taking in consideration other opinions. I think the reason this case was so important was because if the inequality that was being lived at the time. Society had recently fought a civil right movement and this was fresh in their minds. Not being allowed to read the books they wanted was evidence that inequality existed. I find that in today's time we are more open minded to other peoples view point. However, I believe schools censor books they find inappropriate everyday, they get to pick and choose the material that will be taught in
school.
