When Cesar Chavez got to Arizona he started working in the fields for ten years. After that he dedicated his life for migrant wrench camps. On 1960 there was a lot of civil unrest and “face offs”. Cesar Chavez started a strike of migrant farm workers in california.

Cesar Chavez fought for the farm workers rites for forming their own union which other farm workers in the united states were privileged to do. He demanded that the farm workers had lunch breaks, clean water, bathrooms, fair wages, and were able to collect unemployment insurance. When the Cesar Chavez went on a strike the police violent the farm workers, some even got beaten to death. That’s when Cesar Chavez called off the strike.
Cesar Chavez remained fast so he could practice non violence. On 1968 Cesar Chavez fasted for 25 days. When Cesar Chavez fasted that brought attention back to the movement and injecting much needed help in motivation into his supporters. After years of striking the UFW won a victory for the labor movement. The growers agreed the union contrast and guaranteed the workers higher wages and better working conditions.
Not only did Cesar Chavez approved workers rights but rights for all the people in the united states. Cesar Chavez also championed the preservation of the environment by fighting against irresponsible use of pesticides.
