It is a sin to kill a mockingbird because all mockingbirds do is chirp. They don't mess anything up. It is a sin because you're killing innocence with evil. Boo Radley was made fun of because he always inside staying to himself. He kept to himself doing nothing just like a mockingbird would. When Boo saved Scout and Jem, he supposedly murdered Bob Ewell. Atticus wanted to know what happened but the sheriff insisted it was not boo radley. Scout understood that he should stick to the story and say Bob Ewell fell on the knife then said,” Well, it’d be sort of like shootin’ a mockingbird, wouldn't it?”(Lee,276). This means that since he protected and saved Scout and Jem, it would be a sin to take Boo to jail. The reason that Boo Radley does not portray the mockingbird the most is because Tom Robinson was punished for something he didn't do and Boo wasn't punished for something he supposedly did
