Character And Dynamic Character In Hamlet By William Shakespeare

In this paper I will discuss the character changes throughout the story of Hamlet by William Shakespeare. This change of ideals make characters round and dynamic which they then can influence other characters to follow suit. These changes can have a drastic effect upon the story. Throughout the play of Hamlet various characters change their existing personality’s making them dynamic and round. At the start of the play Hamlet is has a pleasant attitude for everyone he comes across and he has a loving affection towards Ophelia. The play greets us with the night watchmen Horatio, Marcellus, Barnardo, and Francisco they banter for a while they are approached by an apparition. They see what they believe to be the ghost of the previous king, also Hamlet’s father.
He snaps changing from a being a scholar and ladies man to a vengeful blood seeking killer pointed to Hamlet, he decides to do this by fencing with Hamlet, unknown to Hamlet though is that Laertes blade is poisoned and for extra measure Hamlet’s glass is poisoned as well. As the fighting commences Gertrude becomes defiant from Claudius after learning the truth and the one time she does not listen to her man she dies by drinking the poisoned cup. Gertrudes personality had changed because of Hamlet telling her about how Claudius had killed her first husband and then she married him. Hamlet and Laertes are still fencing until Hamlet is wounded they scuffle and their swords mix up. Hamlet then grabs Laertes sword and stabs him poisoning him Hamlet then turns on Claudius and slashes him but for extra protection Hamlet forces his uncle to drink what is left of the poisoned cup as well killing him. At the end of the story Horatio talks to Hamlet and Horatio then go to drink the poison to die with Hamlet but he is stopped and told not to if he truly cares about
