Anne was a very positive person. For example in the play I heard that Anne commented on the cat. But Peter replied and says,"That the cat is a pain in his neck." In the book, Mr. Van Daan stole food from their food stash. When Anne found out about this she forgave him because of Peter. She had feelings for Peter that is why she forgave Mr. Van Daan. Also in the play Peter was being very rude to Anne. For example, when Anne would act just a bit annoying Peter would call her "Mrs. Quack Quack". But later Anne forgave Peter and never gave up on him. Because she never gave up on him, they became close friends. Because she spends time with Peter in his room and they talk for about three hours. But this topic also explains the quote, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." In this quote it sounds like she forgave all the Nazis for hurting her. Then said they are probably really good at heart to others.
