Characters In Watership Down
Watership Down is about a young rabbit named Hazel, his prophetic brother named Fiver, and a whole other list of characters. One day Fiver has a vision that their warren is in danger and persuades Hazel and some other rabbits to leave the warren. Hazel leads them away from the warren and to another one with an odd chief named Cowslip. The group learns that this warren is bad news and abandon it, not knowing what they are going to do or where they’re going. When they come across what is seemingly the perfect hill to set up a new warren, they find themselves in another problem, they have no does. This leads them to a farm where Hazel sets free the does from the farm but not before getting shot in the leg, in which he crawls into a pipe and rests, …show more content…
It was kind of hard to choose for this one because I don’t really think i’m like any of the rabbits but if I had to choose it would be those three. I picked Bigwig because i’m stubborn and I like fighting, but not physically. I picked Bluebell because I like joking A LOT and he’s basically known as the jokester of the group. Last but not least, I picked Dandelion because since he is most notably known for storytelling, and I love telling stories.

I really liked the book. At the beginning, I wasn’t quite excited to read it because I thought it was just going to be some boring book about bunnies. But when the part of Cowslip’s Warren, one of my favorite parts, came, I started getting interested. Though, one part I didn’t like is all of the unnecessary things the writer put in. I’d have to say, my favorite part of the book is the characters. They all have different personalities and dialogue. I’m kind of biased because usually characters are my favorite parts of stories. This is still the case with Watership Down!

Fighting scenes in both the book and movie are pretty brutal. One key difference that I noticed is that the movie fighting scenes are WAY MORE BRUTAL. THOSE BUNNIES GO HARD. The Woundwort vs. Bigwig scene was terrifying. I am definitely going to have nightmares about

I thought the book was really good. I found that the book moved at a fast pace. None of the parts were too long or too boring. I liked how the author made it interesting by giving Brian many problems he had to face. The part where he gets rescued by the fur buyer was very cool to read. If I were placed in his situation, I probably would not survive. Even though Brian faced many difficulties and got discouraged, he never gave up. He was determined to survive no matter what crossed his path. I need to be just as determined to find solutions to problems I face and think rationally about…

The character names in the movie and the book are the same.In addition, there is an odd person in the book who nobody knows his name so he is called the man in the yellow suit and he wears a yellow suit and hat with a long beard and long fingers which he is dressed the same in the book and the movie. There's a quote in both movie and book where Angus Tuck takes Winnie on a boat ride and talks to her about living forever. ¨We are like rocks on the side of a stream¨,said Angus Tuck. For the last couple of weeks I have been reading the novel Watership Down. In the beginning, two brothers, Hazel and Fiver, lived in a rabbit warren. Fiver saw blood in the future and decides to run away from the warren. On their adventure some rabbits join them, in the forest they come across a river and use a board to cross. Later on the group is invited into a strange warren, Bigwig gets caught in a snare and the group, including Bigwig, left. Finally they find a down (hill) to live in. The group realized they needed does and asked a bird, Kehaar, to find another warren. Bigwig went to the other warren to gather some of the does. Bigwig and the does barely escape with their lives.…

One of the things that are different are that it talks about Bernard building his gang in battle school. Another example is that it introduces Bean when dragon army was rebooted in the book, but in the movie, Bean was introduced in the beginning. The final example is that in the movie, Ender found the queen after the battle near the base, in the book Ender finds the queen at the bugger planet that they were colonizing after a few years. This is how the book and the movie is very different from each other.…

Another difference between the movie and the book are the animals that attacked Brian while he was in the wilderness. In the movie the bear attacked Brian and destroyed his shelter and he wrestled and injured the bear. Also in the movie Brian got attacked by a raccoon. While in the book Brian sees the bear but doesn’t have any physical contact with her. In the book Brian got attacked by a moose and a skunk. In this event I discovered some differences but also some similarities like the wolf, porcupine and the mosquitoes attack.…

It had humor, real life events, sadness, and suspense. I would most definitely recommend this novel to someone because although it’s very long, you won’t want to stop reading it. This book will make you wonder, cry, even laugh. It’s a book that I think had great meaning and was put together very well. In my opinion, there is no flaws about this book except how long it is.…

The difference in the movie and the book are that in the movie there were no wild dogs attacking Francois and Perrault’s camp, there was no Dolly, Buck did not have the dreams, and Buck’s fight with the moose was in the movie. Spitz also killed Curly in the movie and not in the book. The difference in the book and the movie are that in the book there was no fight between John Thornton and Black Burton, for the bet the money and distance were wrong and it was in mud not snow. There was no fight included with Buck and the wolves. Nobody took Buck in the movie and hit him with a club.…

I like how its really intense and calming and also some parts funny. I like how it talks about teen pregnancy because some young teens will want to get pregnant at such a young age and if they read this book it may help them change their mind and wait till they get older, thats very important to me. I really like the chapter where Bobby was talking about the wall when he was trying to get everything back in place and try to see who he really was, i thought that part was really good. I like how it goes back and fourth for the chapters like then and now, it makes you want to read more because in one chapter it tells you really good information and you just want to read even more till the…

Watership Down is an epic novel filled with adventure. Though the main characters are rabbits, the author depicts them in a very individual way that highlights their personalities while still keeping the novel believable. Two rabbits that have and especially big impact on the story are Hazel and El-ahrairah. Though Hazel is a runaway rabbit and El-ahrairah is a legend of power, both have many similarities which make them so significant in the story.…

First of all, one of the biggest reasons the movie is better than the book is because of the quality of the flashbacks. In the book the flashbacks were more set in the past and much longer, sometimes too drawn out and a little boring for how much background story there is for just one day dream, whereas in the movie the daydreams are a bit shorter but more set in the present and more affect by what he does in that moment with little background because of how short they are and how close to the present they may be. The daydreams are usually much more exciting in the movie as well, whereas in the book it's set back to just a boring doctor surgery, that was…
