Teachers that claim to give grade points for a student who donate, is a way to advertise and lure them to assist others. Although, there is a possibility for a student to join this process for the sake of the reward. Regardless, whether they do this out of consideration or not, they are still helping out others. Helping others is the main purpose for an organization. As long as they achieve their purpose, providing money, food, and clothing, receiving the “wrong message” should not be the main concern. This exchange is a very pleasant deal because the provider and the receiver both collect something rewarding. Both the student and the charity gain something. This can be very beneficial. Most organizations offer special benefits for those who donate. In fact those who donate help by recycling there things instead of creating more waste and dump. I have the experience of volunteering for two times. Both schools that I went to are very poor school as most of students come from neighbor countries such as Myanmar and Cambodia, whom their parents immigrate illegally to Thailand for working opportunity. Also the school director tries to help this children by give them opportunity to study without tuitions fee, which is make financial support from the government is not enough. In my Senior Year of being in the National Honor Society, I was excited to volunteer and to help those in need. I helped out with a soup kitchen in Brainerd through another organization that I am in, the Student Council. As I scooped soup into bowls and placed them onto people’s trays, I could see a look of appreciation and gratitude on their faces. This was the first time in my National Honor Society career where I understood just how much my time and effort meant to these individuals. Teachers should not give out extra credit unless it is directly and uninterruptedly related to what they are learning in school. When I was in the third grade my teacher gave out little orange construction paper squares, for us to write our names on and use as restroom tokens. At the end of the school year she took all of the tokens we didn’t use, put them in a jar and selected at random tokens to give out extra credit. A couple of weeks before the end of the year I found orange construction paper in a school material cabinet in the class room. I took 2 whole sheets home, cut them in the same size as the original ones, had about 20 of them wrote my name on all of them. The teacher called my name at least three times. This one problem that these teachers, officials of education that the government hired to teach children, the seed of the country’s future, and they are giving out extra credit like this? I believe that children should not be paid for good grades for several reasons. First of all, To get good grades depend on how each student learns and handles with the result he or she will receive at last. According to Sylvia Rimm, a child psychologist, money does not play an important role in achievement but consistency does. To illustrate, successful students always try to maintain their scores with unchangeable effort while others who once fail give up easily because they believe that there is no second chance to get rewards and compliment. Another reason is that paying for good grades does not mean paying for any knowledge at all. Like a case of Kasama and her 13-year-son, each grade in the report card has its price - laptop, cellphone, portable DVD player and even money. Thus, many children are so eager to have tutorials just to get 'A's and then what remain in their heads will be soon replaced with what they want and eventually receive as a prize. Finally, paying for good grades can ruin children's confidence. For instance, I had never pay for better better grades until high school when almost all of my friends paid for tutorials. I felt like I could not be good enough without taking extra courses in spite of the fact that I could succeed my self-studying. You 're a ninth grader at a school in Philadelphia. The neighborhood is poor, even if not all of the students are. Your school has very little money for things like computers or technology. You walk into second period one day, sit down, and discover that the floor next to your desk is damp. The teacher explains that there is a leak in the roof, and that the school can 't afford to fix it. The school can 't afford to fix the leak or buy computers because it is inadequately funded. So the government kindly lends your school the money to not only fix the leak, but buy computers. But does that necessarily motivate you to improve your grades?
