Charlie Chaplin's Accomplishments
“There was a point in time when they estimated the two biggest stars in Hollywood where Micky Mouse and Charlie Chaplin ” stated John Lasseter. An artist is a person skilled in a specific occupation or hobby. Charlie Chaplin is an amazing artist for many reasons. For example, the many awards he has won, his commitment to his profession, and the many tragic things that happened to him and he still kept going on and producing funny clips. Chaplin has won over twenty awards and six nominations. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (Unknown Chaplin). Not only has he won awards for his excellent acting skills, but also for his directing skills. Many of his awards for directing rather than just acting. This is what made him one of the best at what he did. He had anywhere from eighty to eighty-eight films, that he was credited for, either he played in them or was one of the directors (Charles Chaplin Awards). City of Lights , one of Chaplin's popular movies, took over two years to film. (Overview of His Life). In today's time it takes approximately only seven months to film a motion picture. Chaplin's commitment to his job are what made his films so popular and high quality. Many people believe that Chaplin is a great artist, but some don’t. Some think he was a bad man and didn't deserve his popularity and recognition. Chaplin never became a US citizen, and was denied re-entry into the states after he left. “I have no further use for America. I wouldn't go back if Jesus Christ were President ” Stated Chaplin (Chaplin Quotes). As well as, having many affairs with much younger women (Koski 23). Although, he did do some questioning acts in his life, the joy he brought into into many others lives is much more powerful. To this day Charlie Chaplin is remembered for many of the good things he has done. Although, Charlie Chaplin did some bad things, his accomplishments are what he should be be remembered for.
