Cheerleaders-Personal Narrative
I hated to leave them there but I can’t be late for class. I kept running and my eyes were focused behind me to make sure none of the cheerleaders were following me, luckily they weren’t but I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. The second I looked in front of me, I ran into a girl carrying a ton of books. I ended up tackling her and everything she was carrying fell to the ground. I jumped to my feet and helped the girl stand, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. Are you ok?” I asked while picking up her books. The girl nodded and grabbed her folders and notebooks that fell out of her backpack. I looked at the girl, she had long brown hair that was up in a ponytail, there were purple glasses resting on her face. She wore a grey jacket, black …show more content…
We always sat next to each other in Geometry. Nicholas was in the back talking with some cheerleaders, I snickered and walked over to him. Nicholas looked at the floor and snickered as I sat in the desk next to him. “So Raven, wanna hear a joke?” asked Nicholas giggling a bit. I really don’t like Nicholas’ jokes, he always tells dark jokes and refuses to tell something that doesn’t end with someone getting hurt. Other than games, Nicholas also likes to tell jokes. If football backfires for him, there is a chance he could become a comedian, Nicholas kept giggling. “A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, Doctor, Doctor, I can’t feel my legs! The doctor replied, I know you can’t, I cut off your arms!” Nicholas and some cheerleaders burst into laughter, I looked at the ground and shook my head. “Come on Nicholas, you know I don’t like your dark jokes” I said while looking at the door waiting for the teacher to walk in. Nicholas wiped a tear from his eye, he looked over at me. He punched me in the arm and smirked. “Maybe you need to loosen up a bit, have a few laughs” replied Nicholas, just then the football coach walked into the foot. He walked over to Nicholas and I, we were both extremely

In the past three years, the NFL has faced a multitude of lawsuits dealing with the unfair payment of NFL cheerleaders. Multiple different articles support the cheerleaders, agreeing that an average of a $1,000 salary each year is unfair. However, other articles are against a higher payment, claiming that cheerleaders work because they enjoy the sport, rather than for the money. While Megan McArdle’s article, “NFL Cheerleaders Don’t Do it for the Money” uses informal diction, comparisons to other jobs, and concession to the opposition to support the claim that the cheerleaders do not deserve to be paid more, “Who Do We Under-Compensate?”, by Ira Boudway, uses a more formal diction, statistics, and concession to the other side of the argument to support the opposite.…

Now if you’ll excuse me, i’m taking your man, and later the title of ‘cheer captain’” I grabbed Isaac's hand and turned away from her walking to the tops of the bleachers. “You’re a fiery little thing aren't you?” He laughed and laid his arm around my shoulders. In my opinion I think that Cheerleading should be a competitive sport because cheerleaders work as hard as all other sport players do. For example cheerleaders show muscle, athleticism and agility when practicing and cheering at games. Cheerleaders show muscle because they lift other people they throw and stack people on top of other people to make a pyramid. They show Agility because when doing cheers they have to make sharp and quick movements with their hands and their feet. I don’t think that it’s fair that cheerleading isn’t a competitive sport because it doesn’t involve a ball. That is why I think that cheerleading is just as much as a sport than any other…

In addition to my partner, another influential person in my life is a co-worker and friend. She fills the maternal role that is absent in my life, by giving me advice, different perspectives, and confidence. My career plays a vital role in my resilience, it gives me cause to wake up and achieve greatness each day. The children I work with inspire me to be a better educator, nurturer, and caregiver. My freshman year, I decided to join my high school Cross Country team. When I started running, it quickly became clear that I was not a gifted athlete. I was slow and often did not enjoy the sport. When the season first started, it took me forty minutes to run a 5k. This time was appalling but oddly, it was what kept me from giving up. There were times when I wanted to quit and go back to never running but the thought of that forty-minute 5k stopped me from doing so. I stayed on the team and pushed myself harder and harder every day. When I felt like stopping, I made myself go even further. I came to practice every single day and sometimes I stayed late. On the days that we did not have practice as a team, I ran on my own. I was dedicated…
