Chef is an awesome, feel-good movie written, directed and starred by Jon Favreau. It is a story about cooking and the love for food that simply captivates your heart and makes you smile in the whole duration of the film. It also talked about the importance of family and having fun because you are doing what you love and that just simply brings out the best in a person.
The movie started with the main character, Carl Casper, who is the head chef in a restaurant in California. They drove all the way back to California but stopping in every city to sell. Percy kept on tweeting their whereabouts and because of social media, they became popular instantly. Towards the end of their trip, Carl told Percy that once they got back to California, Percy cannot work in the truck anymore. But after the trip, Percy sent a letter to his Dad with a video of their adventures together. This made Carl think how much he loves his son and that he wants to have more moments with him. The music strongly gives off this good vibes with its fast beat songs. Latin songs were used which basically embodies the whole concept of the movie. Chef is a movie about love for food and the use of Latin jazz type of songs kind of amplifies every ingredient used by the chef – its flavor, aroma and color just bursts in every scene. Some of the characters in the movie are Spaniards or have Spanish blood like Martin and the wife, Inez. It was explicitly shown in the movie. Plus, the main dish that helped Carl back into the food industry is Cubanos or Cuban sandwich. The now famous food truck of Carl is called El Jefe Cubanos, a Spanish name. Thus, it can be seen that the theme of the movie is something to do with Spanish culture which is definitely felt due to the countless Spanish music
