I interviewed Ms.Pohan my english teacher, because she was fascinated by war movies and how different wars are depicted and was always fascinated by war movies. She said that her favorite movie based on the Vietnam war was Full Metal Jacket which she watched three times, once in highschool, once in college, and once in her twenties. She described the movie as unsettling with brutal honesty, saying that the movie does not tell you how to feel about what you are watching, creating a mix of tones, from a humorous one to a more serious one. She continued by saying the movie used unsettling music to enhance the confusion and the boredom of the soldiers from the abundance of down time in Vietnam. In addition to the fighting in the war, Full Metal Jacket also included the training camp before the war similar to how the other movies she watched portrayed the war.
