Lime scale form when hot water is heated about 61'C. All the acids listed about remove lime scale because the ions in the acids react with the calcium ions in limescale to then form a soluble salt. The acids also react with the carbonates in lime scale to produce water and carbon dioxide. Then the whole solution washes out taking away as much lime scale and possible.

Sulfamic acid
The advantages of using sulfamic acid as a de-scaler are that it is the faster de-scaler which means it can give a greater concentration of atoms that are able to react with the calcium in lime scale. It is also safe to use because it doesn’t produce chlorine gas which is toxic.
The disadvantages of using sulfamic acid as a de-scaler are that it is the most expensive de-scaler and it can irritate eyes and skin. (3)

Ethanoic acid
The advantages of using ethanoic acid (vinegar) as a de-scaler is that it is a non-toxin and a weak acid, there are no harmful chemicals in it so you don’t have to worry about breathing any in and it can easily be removed. It also doesn’t corrode other metals.
The disadvantages of using acid (vinegar) as a de-scaler are that it could have a bad effect on the taste of the coffee, it also has an unpleasant smell so it would have to be rinsed a lot so that the taste of the coffee isn’t affected. It is the slowest de-scaler which also means it is the least effective. (1)

The advantages of using citric acid as a de-scaler are that it doesn’t leave behind any toxins but it has enough acidic concentration to get rid of limescale without damaging any household surfaces. It is also non-toxic as it is an natural acid. it is a weak acid it takes a long time to remove heavy build-up of lime scale. It comes in a power form so takes longer because it has to dissolve. (2)

    Strong Bases Lab Report

Aqueous solutions of acids have a pH of less than 7. An acid has a ph containing acid or having the properties of an acid in particular, having a pH of less than 7. Acids we use eat and drink everyday are oranges and lemons. The strength of an acid refers to its ability or tendency to lose a proton. A strong acid is one that completely dissociates in water; in other words, one mole of a strong acid HA dissolves in water yielding one mole of H+ and one mole of the conjugate base, A−, and none of the protonated acid. Then the neutralization of acid is when the reaction between an acid and a base, producing a salt and neutralized base for example hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide form sodium chloride and water. Neutralization with a base weaker than the acid results in a weakly acidic salt. An example is the weakly acidic ammonium chloride, which is produced from the strong acid hydrogen chloride and the weak base ammonia. Conversely neutralizing a weak acid with a strong base gives a weakly basic salt sodium fluoride from hydrogen fluoride and sodium hydroxide. Acids are often used to remove rust and other corrosion from metals in a process known as pickling. They may be used as an electrolyte in a wet cell battery…

Another issue that could become a health concern is whenever the taxidermist is moving animal hides in and out, emptying, or creating new solutions he or she is putting themselves at risk as if the acid comes in contact with the skin it can burn until properly washed off, or worse if the acid come in contact with the eyes it could cause permanent damage such as blindness. With Saftee Acid this is no longer a concern! The Acid contains the same beneficial chemicals needed to produce perfectly pickled hides but does not contain any of the harmful chemicals that causes…

Louis to a new beverage called lager beer. Before Adam Lemp, nobody brewed beer in St. Louis, and it soon became very popular. Adam Lemp’s storeroom brewery was rather primitive, and the limited space forced him to brew only one product at a time. This altering between beer and apple vinegar probably contributed to his early success. Apple vinegar has antibacterial properties. Now my family comes from a long line of coal miners and moonshiners. A commonly overlooked trick from keeping your moonshine from developing a metallic, penny-like taste is to clean your copper pot on a regular basis. Since most cleaners are poisonous, I was always taught to clean your copper pot with ketchup or apple vinegar. Both products are nonpoisonous and have excellent cleaning properties. Since Adam Lemp was alternating between beer and apple vinegar, he was in effect sterilizing his brewing equipment, which undoubtedly improved the taste of his…
