Children of the Sea:

1) Two narrators in which they do not say their names in the book are in love and write to each other.

2) The female narrator in the book is mad because his father opposes her love for the man.

3) She finds out that he father gave up all his possessions to protect her from the macoutes.

4) The female narrator's family finds out that their neighbor was killed by the macoutes.

5) The male narrator who was a member of the youth federation fled Haiti.

6) The boat that he was in had a pregnant girl named Celianne.

7) Celianne was raped by the macoutes and that is how she got pregnant.

8) Celianne's baby dies while on the boat and she is force to throw it in the water.

4) She dreams of him the same way as when he died of cancer.

5) In order to get a visa, Grace's father married a widow then had a divorce with her to bring his real family into the United States.

6) Ma worries that Caroline might think that only Eric loves her.

7) Before the wedding Caroline starts to get nervous but the Ma reassures her.

8) There is a lot of sadness in the family because they know that when Caroline marries Eric she will not be as close to them as before he married him.

    Ma is the primary caretaker of everyone, but a few instances stand out more than others. Though Ma is sassy to her pregnant daughter, Rose of Sharon, she also comforts her at the Weedpatch government camp when Rose of Sharon is upset about Connie, the father of her growing child, leaving her.
