culture. In literature, a well-known novelist named Ning Ken has created a new literary genre, called chaohuan, or ultra-unreal. He created it to depict the foolishness he believes is happening in China. Chinese medicine and science has developed significantly throughout the years.
One of the most recent medicines discovered is a mix of plant compounds said to kill cancer cells. It’s used in the form of injection, called Compound kushen injection, and is able to treat varied kinds of tumors caused by cancer. It was derived from an ancient Chinese medical practice. China has also had a breakthrough regarding teleportation. Scientists in China, along with some from Canada, got photons, or light, to teleport across the cities of Hefei and Calgary. This is called Quantum teleportation. The economy of China in the 21st century has considerably raised, being second place in the world. One reason is that the factories have increased their construction and manufacturing activity, which is stabling the economy. Retail is also developing, escalating from 10.2% to 10.6% in one month. These improvements are not only causing cities to thrive, but more projects in China are being established. This is a result of stronger government spending. Analysts say the economies rapid rising will begin to falter and become more steady in a year from now,
2017. Chinese politics are advancing. The Chinese Communist Party recently had a meeting in Beijing where the government was discussed. The CCP has determined to update the governmental system they currently use in China and the functions of it. Over the last thirty years, politics in China have immensely changed, and for the better. Some of these chages are “rule of law, public participation, democratic decision making, social governance, public services, government accountability, political transparency, administrative efficiency, government approval procedures, decentralization and the development of social organizations.” (Yu par.6) In the past, the government, market, and society were all in one place. Today, in the modern China, there are branches, like in America, where everything is divided, not like before. Finally, the humanitarian efforts of China are enhancing. It has aided South Sudan after the “civil war which broke out in December 2013 and left tens of thousands dead.” (Xinhua par.7) China wants to help South Sudan come to a nonviolent spot, ending the dispute between its government. China has had many social developments throughout the years. After more than 35 years, they have eliminated the law of having only one child in a household. In fact, they are now urging couples to have two children. No more than two, though, because Beijing still has a law which will fine a family 3 to 10 times their salary for having more than 2 children. The suspension of the one-child law shows that China has made great progress.
