Graphic designer, Chip Kidd has inspired many with his out-of-the-ordinary, unique designs. Chip Kidd has done many different jobs all having to do with design; he was an art director, an author, a designer, and illustrator, and a photographer. He has a lot of creativity, and he designs things that are very unexpected.
Chip Kidd was born on September 12, 1964 in Shillington, Pennsylvania. He went to college at Pennsylvania State University, and he graduated from the graphic design program in 1986. Right out of college, he was hired at the Knopf Publishing House as a junior assistant. By the year 2002, he had designed over 1,200 book covers for Knopf Publishing House.

This is a really interesting design because it has three separate people, all with different parts of their face on the cover. Another interesting thing about this is that the author’s name and the book title appear to be shadows on the walls. The design for this cover is interesting and mysterious; it will catch the reader’s eye.
Interestingly, Chip Kidd did not think that he would be a book cover designer. In fact, he wanted to work at a big company and be a graphic designer. But, when he graduated from college, the only job he was offered was at Knopf Publishing House. Kidd accepted the job, and that’s where he began his career as a book cover designer.
When Chip Kidd first started his career at Knopf Publishing House, he was a junior assistant. When he first started working, a lot of his job was mainly just assistant-type tasks, and not really designing at all; but after a few months he finally got to start designing book covers, and he was responsible for 75 book covers per year!
